2026 Elton Mardi Gras Chicken Run Entertainment Details
Lake Charles, LA [KNGT-FM] - Mardi Gras is fast approaching here in Louisiana with the full set of events starting this Friday Febraury 13, 2026, across the state. This is the final weekend of the Mardi Gras, and cities and towns across the bayou state will be having their unique, one-of-a-kind celebrations.
In small Cajun towns like Eunice, Mamou, and Elton, you will find that old school traditional style of Mardi Gras as opposed to the more commercialized style of Mardi Gras that you see in New Orleans.

Speaking of Elton, Louisiana, they are gearing up for a big Mardi Gras celebration on Saturday, February 14th, 2026, with their annual chicken run. This is where a bunch of folks get together on horseback, on foot, and other modes of transportation, and go house to house collecting supplies for a gumbo, and all end up at a location to cook it and have a big dance and celebration.
This year, they have stacked up some great entertainment for the event, including two of the biggest names in Louisiana Zydeco Music. The gates and registration will open at 8:00 am that morning at The Stable, located at 5043 Doise Road in Elton, Louisiana.
Performing starting at 2:00 pm will be Horace Trahan live until 5:00 pm, followed by Rusty Metoyer & Zydeco Krush performing live from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm. It will be hosted by the one and only Diva D from 107 Jamz.
So gather up your folks and head over to Elton this Saturday for one heck of a good time.
