A New Restaurant You Recognize Opening in Westlake, Louisiana

The other day we were driving around the Southwest Louisiana area when we saw a sign that stopped us in our tracks. We were traveling down Sampson Street in Westlake, Louisiana when we saw a sign with a familiar log on it saying coming soon.

We thought we saw something wrong so we circled back and drove by again to make sure what we thought we saw was right. Once we confirmed it, we realized what we saw on the sign was the restaurant we thought it said.

The restaurant we are talking about is the Blue Iguana Taco Bar & Cantina and they already have a location in Lake Charles. It is located in the old Hong Kong restaurant located at 629 W Prien Lake Road in Lake Charles. The restaurant is known for its queso dips, fajitas, and tacos.

The new location of the Blue Iguana Taco Bar & Cantina will be in Westlake and is currently under construction. We saw workers out on the property gutting out the building so it seems that the new location will have a fresh, new interior when it opens.

The new location will be located on Sampson Street just South of McKinley Street in Westlake, Louisiana. When we took a closer look, the sign did not indicate when the projected opening date would be. it looks like they are in the beginning stages of construction and building.

So it looks like the city of Westlake is getting a new option in dining for its residents. We will follow up once we know an opening date.
