The game usually has some form of repercussions for the winner and this year is no different. LSU and Alabama sit tied in first place in the SEC West division with Ole Miss. All three items are 4-1 in SEC play this season.

The LSU Tigers are sitting in the driver's seat though. LSU has already beaten Ole Miss this season and if they can beat Alabama this Saturday, they will be in the driver's seat to head to Atlanta to play for the SEC Championship.

LSU moved up in the national polls this week as they are now #15 in the AP poll and #17 in the coach's polls. Alabama sits at #6 in both polls.
