ATV Beach Drag Racing Coming To Lake Charles Memorial Day Weekend
For the first time, a one-of-a-kind event is coming to the Southwest Louisiana area this Memorial Day weekend May 24th-25th in Lake Charles. The event is called Smoke On The Water and will feature ATV and Side-by-side drag racing, a car show, a kid's fun zone, live music, and more.
The event is put on by the Friends of Our Veterans and a portion of the proceeds will go to the Lake Charles Veterans Memorial Park along with our local veterans so this is a great cause to get behind and support.
The two-day event will take place at the I-10 North Beach in Lake Charles and will get underway on Friday night, May 24th, 2024 with some events and great live music. On Friday night, get ready to see and hear perform Jon Leger & The Pas Bon Playboys and Brian Racca Jr. live.
On Saturday morning, May 25th, 2024 starting at 8:00 am there will be a registration for the Carshow and it will take place from 8:00 am until the judging starts at 11:00 pm. For more information on how to put your vehicle in the show call Roger Miller at 337-263-0655. The show will feature cards, trucks, and motorcycles.
Then get ready for some heart-pounding ATV and Side-by-side drag racing action on the sand at the I-10 beach in Lake Charles. These powerful machines will be mounted up by drivers racing at top speeds across the sand for cash and prizes.
They will have the Test/tune on Friday from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm and the same will take place Saturday morning from 8:00 am to 10:30 am. Then the exciting racing action will get underway starting at 11:00 am and run until 6:00 pm on Saturday, May 25th. $10 gets you into the gate each day.
The afterparty will be at the Horseshoe Casino in Westlake with a free outdoor concert featuring the one and only LA ROXX. The show will be located outside (Weather Permitting) in the back of the Horseshoe next to the lake and the band will hit the stage starting at 8;00 pm. If there is inclement weather, the concert will be moved inside to the event center on the second floor.
This is a free concert and the public is invited to attend. It is open for anyone to attend. That night all the prizes and awards will also be announced.
