What to Do on the Last Weekend of August in Lake Charles & SWLA

First, the Cowboy Block Parties are back for another year and get started this Friday night, August 28th. Grammy Award Winner Wayne Toups will perform live inside the Townsley Law Arena Friday night. The doors for the event open at 6:00 pm and are FREE and open to the public and all ages. You are also allowed to bring in your alcoholic or non-alcoholic drinks. Wayne will hit the stage at 7:30 pm.

If you are excited that football is back, you're in luck! The 2026 McNeese Football team starts a new season this Saturday in Lake Charles. They welcome in last year's Southland Conference champions, Stephen F. Austin, at 6:00 pm.

Ryan Foret and Foret Tradition will be playing live at Jellystone RV Park and Resort on Saturday night. Ryan and the boys will hit the stage under the pavilion starting at 7:00 pm and play until 9:00 pm. You don't have to be camping to attend the concerts.

Texas Country crooner Pat Green will be live in Lake Charles this Saturday night at the Golden Nugget's Grand Event Center in Lake Charles. Pat will take the stage at 8:00 pm for a night of all your favorites.
