It is football season and the McNeese Cowboys return home this Saturday September 8th to take on McMurray at 7:00 p.m. The McNeese Cowboys athletic department is also premiering the “Cowboy Corral“, the first of many FREE tailgate parties for Cowboy fans featuring LIVE entertainment during each home game! Here are the details.

The McNeese Cowboys won their first game on the road against a FBS or 1-A school, Middle Tennessee, last Thursday 27-21.  That win got the McNeese Cowboys into the Top 25 polls this week.

The New Orleans Saints will take on the Tennessee Titans tonight in Nashville which will be televised at six p.m..

With all eyes on Isaac, the LSU football team are still preparing for their game against North Texas this Saturday night at Tigers Stadium. LSU Vice Chancellor and Director of Athletics Joe Alleva issued a statement today regarding the game and tropical storm Isaac.  For now, the Tigers plan on playing the game but of course that could change.

The New Orleans Saints football team is watching Tropical Storm Isaac closely.  The Saints are scheduled to play the Tennessee Titans Thursday night in their final preseason game of the year in Nashville. Interim head coach Joe Vitt said yesterday that the team was watching the storm and would make a decision soon on when to leave New Orleans for Nashville.

As of the 7:00 a.m. update, Southwest Louisiana is now under a Tropical storm watch. The cone of uncertainty has shifted further westward which now looks like it includes all of  Louisiana. Update: 7:00 a.m. advisory:  The 7 a.m has just come out and nothing has really changed as far as projected path and wind speeds.  Tropical Storm Isaac is currently sporting 65 mph winds with gusts up to 75 mph

It is finally here high school football fans!  The 2012 high school football season is underway.  Last night, a couple of lake area teams were in action in the football jamborees.  It’s teams last scrimmage to tune up before the regular season begins next week. Here is a look at the scores from last night and what games are on tap tonight.

Hurricane season is in full swing and the Caribbean is churning with tropical storm Isaac.  Tropical storm Isaac is forecast to become a hurricane by 1:00 p.m. tomorrow. We checked in with Chief meteorologist Wade Hampton from KPLC for the latest update.

The University of Louisiana Lafayette football program has announced that they will honor former UL student Mickey Shunick this season by putting decals on their football helmets.  The team will wear the decals on the helmets all season long to honor Mickey. Our sister station in Lafayette, Hot 107.9, is reporting that the Ragin’ Cajuns head coach is supporting tribute fully.
