Hurricane Season Starts Today June 1st
The 2012 Atlantic hurricane season starts today and the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration has released their predictions for the upcoming season.

First Named Tropical System Has Formed
The Pacific hurricane season officially starts today and it’s already off to an active start. The first named tropical system of the hurricane season has formed in the Pacific Ocean and her name is Aletta. Tropical Storm Aletta as you can see by the picture is up to 45 mph and it not expected to make landfall anywhere.

Downtown At Sundown Announces Entertainment Lineup
It’s that time again. Downtown at Sundown is back! The four week concert series takes place in downtown Lake Charles and starts up May 18th!
A little different this year is that due to the construction in downtown Lake Charles, Downtown at Sundown will be moved from it’s traditional location of Ryan and Broad Streets to the 600 block of Ryan Street between Division and Mill Streets.

McNeese Cowgirls Win First Game In SLC Tournament
The McNeese Cowgirls started their defense of their Southland Conference title today at noon when they took on Southeastern Louisiana in Katy Texas.
The game tipped off at noon and the Cowgirls took it from there beating Southeastern Louisiana 67-55 to advance to the Semi-Finals of the Southland conference tournament.
