For the first time in the history of Major League Baseball, a regular season baseball game was played by two teams with absolutely noone in the stands of the ball park.

Today at Camden Yards in Baltimore the Orioles played the Chicago White Sox at an empty stadium.  The gates at Camden Yards were locked because of concern for fan safety following recent rioting in Baltimore.

Well they say the game must go on even if the folks in Baltimore can't behave themselves and stop all the violence and lutting in the city.

The Orioles Chris Davis hit a three-run homer and Baltimore scored six runs in the first inning to beat the Chicago White Sox 8-2.

The game today took only two hours and three minutes.

The Orioles are scheduled to take on the Tampa Bay Rays Friday night in Baltimore.  It is unknown if fans will be allowed in the ball park Friday.
