Brett Eldredge and Thomas Rhett to Host 2016 CMA Music Festival Television Special
Brett Eldredge and Thomas Rhett have been announced as the hosts for "CMA Music Festival: Country's Night to Rock."
The ABC television music event takes at the beginning of August, and the two country stars will host the three-hour special that brings the 2016 CMA Music Festival to viewers' television screens. They've both proved to be fantastic entertainers, so it should be fun watching them in this new role.
“I’ve played my heart out on every size stage at CMA Fest, from the crowds of 20 to the big stadium, because I love the energy of the Festival and the Country Music fans so much,” says Eldredge in a press release. “And now I get to host the whole thing with one of my best pals. You can’t beat that!”
“As a fan, CMA Music Fest was always the biggest event of the year for me. Some of my favorite memories are me and my buddies sitting in the nosebleeds watching our heroes play,” adds Rhett. “It’s surreal and a huge honor to be hosting and performing on this stage.”
The TV special, which first aired in 2004, will be filmed during CMA Music Festival June 9-12 in Nashville. It will feature exciting country artists as they hit the stage, sing their hits and dazzle the crowds during the four-day festival. The annual event includes live music on 11 stages, more than 500 artists and celebrities, meet-and-greets in Fan Fair X and 87,000 fans.
This is the 12th time ABC will broadcast the CMA Music Fest special, and it is slated to air on ABC through 2021. Though the artists appearing in the televised event haven't yet been announced, country's biggest stars are set for CMA Fest, giving fans a good chance at seeing their favorite singers.
This isn't the first time Eldredge and Rhett have teamed up; they headlined CMT on Tour: Brett Eldredge & Thomas Rhett — Suits & Boots last year. It will be fun to see what they come up with; will their humor outwit Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley? Or Luke Bryan and Dierks Bentley?
ABC Television Network airs “CMA Music Festival: Country’s Night to Rock” on Wednesday, Aug. 3 at 8PM ET.
