Lake Charles Weekend Forecast: RealFeel Could Hit 108 Degrees

KNGT | Lake Charles, LA — Alright y’all… welcome back to another Cajun Weekend Weather Report, and I hope that air conditioner is paid up, cleaned out, and ready to WORK this weekend. Because August in Southwest Louisiana has apparently decided 95 degrees just ain’t enough anymore. We gotta make it feel like 108.

According to AccuWeather, we’re looking at a mostly dry start to the weekend around Lake Charles before a little rain tries to sneak back into the picture Sunday. But the biggest story? The HEAT. Let’s break this thing down.

Friday
Friday comes in with plenty of sunshine and a high around 93 degrees. Rain chance, ONE PERCENT. I don’t even know why they bothered putting that on there. But here’s where things get serious. AccuWeather says the RealFeel could hit 107 degrees.

That’s not “grab an extra bag of ice” weather. That’s “you better get two bags because the first one melted while you were loading the truck” weather. If you’re gonna cut grass or do yard work, get it done early. By afternoon, I’m staying as close to air conditioning as legally possible.

Saturday
Saturday says, “Oh, you thought Friday was hot?” High around 95 degrees, mostly sunny skies, and only a 3% chance of rain. But that RealFeel? 108 degrees. Good Lord.

If you’re heading to a festival, ball game, cookout, fishing, or doing anything outside Saturday, take this heat seriously. Drink water. Find shade. Wear sunscreen. The UV index is also Very High, so if you forget the sunscreen, by Saturday evening you might be the same color as a boiled crawfish. And yes, keep that cooler full. This ain’t the weekend to cheap out on ice.

Sunday
Now Sunday changes things up a little. We’ll see a high around 92 degrees, but the RealFeel could still reach 107. Rain chances also jump up to around 57%, with a little afternoon rain possible. Honestly? I’ll take it. At this point, if a rain shower wants to come through and knock the temperature down a couple degrees, come on with it.

Just don't get too excited. It's still gonna be hot and humid enough outside to remind you exactly where you live.
