Cajun Weekend Weather Report: Halloween Could Drop to 52°!
KNGT | Lake Charles, LA — Alright y'all, welcome back to another Cajun Weekend Weather Report, and I've got some pretty good news for everybody getting ready for Halloween. Now, before you get too excited, we ain't talking about snow, freezing temperatures, or anything like that.
According to AccuWeather, Southwest Louisiana could see temperatures drop all the way down to 52 degrees Halloween night! 52! Sha, somebody better tell them trick-or-treaters to leave a little room under their costumes for a hoodie.
We're looking at a pretty nice weekend around Lake Charles from Friday, October 30, through Sunday, November 1, with temperatures mostly in the upper 70s and lower 80s, very little rain, and a little taste of cooler weather. And for once, Mother Nature might actually cooperate with our outdoor plans.
Friday:
Friday kicks things off with a high around 79 degrees and a low around 63. AccuWeather is calling for increasing cloudiness throughout the day, with only a 14% chance of rain. The RealFeel should reach around 80 degrees, with an east wind around 8 mph. So if you've got Halloween parties, football games, or plans to get everything ready for Saturday night, Friday is looking pretty good.

It'll be warm enough during the afternoon to wear shorts, but once that sun starts going down, you might wanna have a light jacket nearby. And with rain chances staying pretty low, you probably won't have to worry about your Halloween decorations getting washed down the street.
Saturday:
Now Saturday is the day everybody's watching. It's Halloween! And this year, it looks like we might actually get some pretty nice trick-or-treating weather. We're expecting a high around 77 degrees with mostly cloudy skies. The rain chance? Just 1%!
Y'all, that's about as good as you can ask for when you've got kids running around the neighborhood dressed like superheroes, princesses, ghosts, and whatever else they talked you into buying this year. But here's the number that caught my attention. 52, oh I can't wait.

Now remember, that's the forecast overnight low, so it doesn't mean it'll already be 52 degrees when the kids start knocking on doors. But it does mean temperatures could get pretty cool later in the evening and overnight.
So if you're taking the kids trick-or-treating, you might wanna bring a hoodie or light jacket along. And if you're one of those folks sitting outside handing out candy? You might actually get to enjoy sitting around a fire instead of sweating through your Halloween costume. Now that sounds like Halloween!
Sunday:
Sunday is November 1, and apparently Louisiana is already planning to warm things back up. We're looking at a high around 81 degrees and a low around 64. AccuWeather is calling for partly sunny skies with only a 1% chance of rain. The RealFeel could reach around 83 degrees, so Sunday afternoon is gonna be pretty comfortable, maybe even a little warm. It's the perfect kind of weather for cleaning up all those Halloween decorations, relaxing outside, or getting together with family.
And if you're like me, Sunday might also involve going through the leftover Halloween candy. You know, just to make sure it's still good. Somebody's gotta do quality control.
Here's Your Weekend Game Plan
-Friday: High of 79, low of 63. Increasing clouds with only a 14% chance of rain.
-Saturday: High of 77, low of 52. Mostly cloudy with just a 1% chance of rain. A cooler Halloween night is possible!
-Sunday: High of 81, low of 64. Partly sunny with another very small chance of rain.
SWLA, This Might Be the Halloween Weather We've Been Waiting For! Y'all, think about how many Halloweens we've had around here where the kids were sweating underneath their costumes. You spend all that money on a costume, get everybody dressed up, and five minutes later somebody's complaining that they're hot. Well, this year might be a little different. With highs in the 70s Saturday, almost no rain expected, and temperatures dropping later that night, Halloween is shaping up pretty nicely.
And don't forget, Daylight Saving Time ends early Sunday morning, November 1, so we'll be setting those clocks back an hour. That means an extra hour of sleep! Unless you've got kids. Then they'll probably still wake you up at the same time asking if they can eat Halloween candy for breakfast.
That's your Cajun Weekend Weather Report. We ain't just telling y'all what the weather's doing. We're helping y'all survive Southwest Louisiana weather one crazy weekend at a time. And if this forecast holds up, Halloween might actually feel like Halloween in Southwest Louisiana. Just remember, y'all, the kids get the candy. Dad gets the Reese's.
