KNGT | Lake Charles, LA — Alright y'all, welcome back to another Cajun Weekend Weather Report, and I've got a question. DID SOMEBODY FORGET TO TELL LOUISIANA THAT HALLOWEEN IS NEXT WEEK? We're getting closer and closer to November, the Halloween decorations are everywhere, pumpkins are sitting on porches, and some of y'all have already made your first pot of gumbo. But Mother Nature? She's still hanging out in the 80s.

According to AccuWeather, Southwest Louisiana is looking at another warm, almost completely dry weekend from Friday, October 23rd, through Sunday, October 25th. We're talking highs between 83 and 85 degrees, nighttime temperatures dipping into the upper 50s and lower 60s, and practically ZERO chance of rain. So if you've got outdoor plans, this forecast is looking pretty darn good. Just don't expect to be wearing that hoodie all afternoon.

Friday: A Little Sunshine and a Little Hoodie Weather
Friday kicks off the weekend with a high around 84 degrees and a low Friday night around 58 degrees. Now THAT'S what I'm talking about! FIFTY-EIGHT! We'll have partial sunshine with a RealFeel around 87 degrees during the afternoon. So Friday is gonna be one of those Louisiana days where you leave the house wearing a hoodie, take it off before lunch, and then go looking for it again after the sun goes down. And the rain chance? 0%. ZERO! That's right. No rain expected Friday. The UV index will be Moderate, and winds should be pretty light out of the east-southeast around 5 mph. If you've got Friday night football, a bonfire, or plans to sit outside with friends, Friday evening could feel pretty nice.

Saturday: A Little Cloudy, But Still Looking Good
Saturday brings a high around 83 degrees and a low around 62. We'll have mostly cloudy skies, but here's the good news. ANOTHER 0% CHANCE OF RAIN! I don't know about y'all, but I'm starting to get suspicious. Two straight days in Louisiana with no rain? Somebody better go check the weather equipment. The RealFeel should reach around 86 degrees, so it'll still be warm during the afternoon. But with mostly cloudy skies and a little breeze, Saturday should be a pretty good day for getting outside. Whether you're headed to a festival, watching football, working in the yard, or firing up the grill, you shouldn't have to worry much about the rain. Just remember, we're still in Southwest Louisiana. You might need sunglasses, a hoodie, and a short-sleeve shirt all in the same day.

Sunday: More Sunshine and More Warm Weather
Sunday wraps up the weekend with a high around 85 degrees and a low around 62. We'll see intervals of clouds and sunshine with a RealFeel around 85 degrees. And the rain chance? 1%. ONE PERCENT! Apparently, Mother Nature has decided to give Southwest Louisiana a little vacation from those afternoon thunderstorms. The UV index will be Moderate, with an east wind around 7 mph. So if you've got church, family plans, a cookout, or just wanna spend Sunday afternoon sitting outside doing absolutely nothing, the weather should cooperate. Now, 85 degrees in late October might not exactly scream fall. But at least we're not dealing with those triple-digit RealFeel temperatures anymore. I'll take that as a win.

Here's Your Weekend Game Plan

Friday: High of 84, low of 58. Partial sunshine with no rain expected. Great hoodie weather once the sun goes down.
Saturday: High of 83, low of 62. Mostly cloudy, warm, and another dry day.
Sunday: High of 85, low of 62. Sunshine mixed with clouds and only a 1% chance of rain.

SWLA, Keep the Hoodie Handy, But Don't Put Away the Shorts! Here's the deal, y'all. We're getting closer to Halloween, and Louisiana still can't decide whether it wants to be summer or fall. One minute you're thinking about gumbo. The next minute you're standing outside sweating while trying to carve a pumpkin. But I'll tell you what. With almost no rain expected all weekend, temperatures in the 80s during the day, and some cooler evenings, it's hard to complain too much.

If you've got outdoor plans, get out there and enjoy yourself. Take the kids somewhere. Go see some live music. Fire up the grill. Or just sit outside and enjoy not having to check the radar every 15 minutes. And if you're one of those people who has been waiting all year to wear a hoodie? Friday night might finally be your moment. Just make sure you've got a T-shirt underneath it. Because this is Louisiana, and you might be sweating again by lunchtime.

That's your Cajun Weekend Weather Report. We ain't just telling y'all what the weather's doing. We're helping y'all survive Southwest Louisiana weather one crazy weekend at a time. And with Halloween right around the corner, I've got one last question. Are we gonna be wearing Halloween costumes or bathing suits this year? At this rate, I'm not ruling out either one!
