KNGT | Lake Charles, LA — Alright y'all, welcome back to another Cajun Weekend Weather Report, and I've got good news and bad news. The good news? WE FINALLY GOT RID OF THE 90s! The bad news? Apparently Louisiana traded the heat for a whole bunch of rain.

According to AccuWeather, the first weekend of October around Lake Charles is looking cooler, cloudy, humid, and WET. And I ain't talking about one little afternoon shower that lasts 15 minutes. Friday has an 80% chance of rain. Saturday has a 70% chance. Sunday has another 70% chance.

Lake Charles Weekend Forecast Breakdown

Friday
Friday we starting the weekend with a high around 87 degrees and a low around 73. AccuWeather is "saying" heavy rain in the morning and a couple of storms in the afternoon. It's looking like an 80% chance. So apparently October showed up but left the humidity in September. Keep the umbrella close.

Saturday
Now Saturday... Saturday is the one I'm watching. Looking like high around 84 degrees and a low around 72, with a 70% chance of rain. AccuWeather is calling for 11.5 HOURS OF PRECIPITATION. ELEVEN AND A HALF HOURS! Good Lord. At that point, don't bring an umbrella. Bring the boat. Now, that doesn't necessarily mean it's gonna pour nonstop for 11 straight hours everywhere in Southwest Louisiana. But if you've got something planned outside Saturday, I would definitely keep an eye on the radar and have a backup plan.

Sunday
Sunday doesn't look much drier. We're expecting a high around 85 degrees with a low around 71. There's another 70% chance of rain, with rain and a thunderstorm possible. AccuWeather is showing around 7.5 total hours of precipitation for Sunday. Basically, Sunday looks like a good day to sleep in, cook something, watch football, and listen to the rain hit the roof.

NOW we're getting dangerously close to gumbo weather. Here's Your Weekend Game Plan

Friday: Heavy morning showers with more rain possible during the afternoon.

Saturday: Rain and thunderstorms with a pretty wet day possible.

Sunday: More rain and thunderstorms with another soggy day possible.

Definitely need a Plan B. Keep checking the radar. Keep the umbrella nearby. And maybe don't spend 45 minutes fixing your hair before you leave the house. It might not survive the parking lot.

After weeks of begging Louisiana to cool down, apparently Mother Nature finally listened. We just forgot to specify that we didn't need her to turn on the garden hose too. That's your Cajun Weekend Weather Report. We ain't just telling y'all what the weather's doing. We're helping y'all survive Southwest Louisiana weather one crazy weekend at a time.

And I can't believe I'm finally saying this...Y'all might wanna go ahead and find that gumbo pot.

15 Craziest Laws in Louisiana

If you’ve lived in Louisiana long enough, you already know this state marches to its own beat. We fry just about everything, we’ll turn any weekend into a festival, and we have laws on the books that’ll make you stop mid-sentence and say, “Wait… that’s real?”

According to Kenny Habetz Injury Law, it sure is. Their Lafayette personal injury lawyers put together a list of the 15 craziest rules still floating around Louisiana law. Some of these will make you laugh. Some might make you scratch your head. And believe it or not, breaking a few of them could land you with a fine or even jail time.
