Forget the Temperature. The Heat Index Is the Real Story.

KNGT | Lake Charles, LA — Alright, y'all, welcome back to another Cajun Weekend Weather Report. We got good and bad news this week. Let's start with the bad, ya A/C Unit is about to put in some overtime. But, the good news, we shouldnt get to much rain this weekend.

According to AccuWeather, Southwest Louisiana is looking to be hot & humid, with temperatures climbing into the lower to middle 90s. Add in the Louisiana Humidity and POW, ya gonna get even hotter "feels like" temps. In other words, its gonna feel like your standing in an oven this weekend.

Friday
Friday we starting with high of around 94 degrees, and there's about a 55 percent chance of rain during the morning hours. Thats pretty good news considering after that we are going to get a mix of clouds and sunshine. Bad news, thats going to raise the humidity.

Saturday
Saturday is pretty much a copy and paste of Friday. Those highs gonna be around 92 degrees along with another 55 percent chance of scattered thunderstorms. Even though it wont be storms all day, I'd say carry that umbrella. Once again, after that rain its gonna feel like your in a sauna.

Sunday
Sunday is showing up like a rockstar. Highs around 93 degrees and no chance of rain. This sounds amazing but the "feels like" temps are gonna be around 105. Pack plenty of water in your coolers. So if you're heading to the lake, cooking outside, cutting grass, or watching the kids play ball, make sure you stay hydrated.

Friday: Morning showers followed by plenty of heat and humidity.

Saturday: Scattered storms and another steamy Louisiana afternoon.

Sunday: Sunshine, heat, and enough humidity to make everybody complain.
