Southwest Louisiana is known for its beautiful scenery and outdoor fun. That is why we are called Sportsmans Paradise and around Southwest Louisiana and the Lake Charles area, we love to take full advantage of it too.

On a daily basis, you will see people fishing, kayaking, jet skiing, crabbing, and especially riding on their boats. We mean it makes sense though because in Southwest Louisiana we have an abundant amount of waterways to choose from to do whatever activity you want to do.

Some of the folks will hit the Calcasieu River to do some bass fishing and perch jerking. Some will opt for the massive lake in front of the civic center. It is a favorite of boaters to just take a ride or even pull their people behind the boat on a tube or boogie board.

Then there are others who take advantage of the waterways here just to take a little cruise on their boat and just soak up the sites. Because of all these things, boat poker runs are very popular.

The Calcasieu Boat Club at Lake Charles has announced that they will be holding a poker run on August 4th and 5th, 2023. After the announcement of their Facebook page, one popular question that was asked was Do you have to be a member of the Calcasieu Boat Club?

They answered and said NO, this poker run will be open to the public and you don't have to be a member. They went on to say that more details will be released at a later date.

So if you are interested in getting in on the poker run, then click here on the Calcasieu Boat Club Facebook page to follow them for more information as they release it.
