College Football Player Attacks Coach During Game
A senior defensive end from the Tennessee State University football team sucker-punched a coach twice on the sideline at their game on Saturday.
The player's name is Latrelle Lee and he was expelled from the school on Monday. He punched strength and conditioning coach T.J. Greenstone. Greenstone, a former defensive tackle from Vanderbilt, also acts as the Tigers’ “get-back” coach, telling players keep their distance from the sideline.
At this time, there is no word on what prompted the attack.
The Tennessee State University Athletic Director released this statement:
“We, of course, do not condone any act of violence within our department and are very disturbed by the action of one of our students. We are committed to supporting the coach who was personally affected and our concern now is with him.” - TSU Athletic Director Teresa Phillips
