One of our great charities here in Southwest Louisiana, Colors for a Cause, is holding a redfish tournament this Saturday, June 12 at the Hackberry Community Center.

The event will feature several events for the entire family, so get out and enjoy and support the Colors for a Cause Louisiana Chapter event called Summer of Hope.

Colors for a Cause is an organization that helps Louisiana families who have children battling cancer by providing financial assistance for mortgage/rent, utilities, travel expenses for medical treatment, and they also conduct a Christmas Outreach program to help provide families with funds and/or gifts.

There will be teams weighing in their catches while they will have a jambalaya cook-off, cornhole tournament, and live music. The Summer of Hope event timeline rolls like this:

  • Redfish Tournament from Safe Lite to 1:00pm.
  • Jambalaya Cook-off starting with set up from 7:00am to 8:00am
  • Cornhole Tournament starting at 9:30am
  • DJ playing from 8:00am
  • Live music with Johnny Jimenez at 10:00am until noon
  • Ethan Wayne & Andre Devillier at 1:00pm.

The event will be at the Hackberry Community Center this Saturday, June 12. If you would like to get into the fishing tournament or put your team into the jambalaya cook-off, contact the Colors for a Cause team at 337-317-1455.

Don't miss your chance to support a great cause, see some live music, and eat some great food this Saturday.
