It warms our hearts when we get to report that another locally-owned business is back up and running. Just like most businesses in Southwest Louisiana, Coolers Icehouse was devastated after hurricanes Laura and Delta.

Do you remember what Coolers Looked Like before the storms? It was a yellow building with a big front porch. We here at Townsquare Media in Lake Charles had the pleasure to team up with them a ton of times doing special events. One that comes to mind was our big McNeese Homecoming block party. Here is what Coolers used to look like.

The owners of Coolers Icehouse basically had to start completely over after the storms riping the building down to the foundation. Below is a picture from December 2021 of when they were actually able to start rebuilding. You will see that the first part of the frame was just going up!

It's hard to believe that the old bar had to be leveled to the ground and rebuilt but it was. The owners were determined to bring Coolers Icehouse back to Lake Charles and worked their tales off to do so.

Now the new Coolers Icehouse is open. Well, it's been open for the past few months but yesterday, they had the official ribbon-cutting ceremony and the Mayor of Lake Charles was on hand to officially welcome the popular bar and eatery back to Southwest Louisiana and Lake Charles.

The new building is dark blue and boasts way more square footage so there is plenty of room for you and all of your friends. you can get your favorite beer, wine, daiquiris, and food at the new Coolers Icehouse!

Whether you Drive-thru or hang out inside the beautiful new bar, they got you covered with their signature wings, pizza, and my wifey's favorite, the Southwest Egg Rolls. So stop by and support a locally owned business in Lake Charles and be looking out for the big announcement for their Grand re-opening party coming soon!
