Cracklin’ Cook-Off Hits Lake Charles with Wayne Toups

Cooks from across the region will fire up their pots, bring out their secret seasonings, and go head-to-head in a sizzling showdown dedicated to one of Louisiana’s most beloved snacks.
This isn’t just backyard bragging rights on the line. Teams will prepare their signature batches of cracklins for judges who will evaluate flavor, texture, seasoning, and overall presentation.
Only one crew will earn the ultimate honor and the first-place prize. Whether you’re a seasoned pro or a passionate home cook, this is your opportunity to showcase your skills in front of a hungry crowd.
The event will take place at Jellystone RV Park and Resort in Lake Charles, providing the perfect setting for a full day of food, fellowship, and live entertainment. And speaking of entertainment, the party doesn’t stop at the cook-off.
Registration starts at 9:00 am with cooking beginning at 11:00 am. Turn in food at 3:30 pm, and Judging will take place starting at 4:00 pm.
Grammy Award-winning Louisiana music legend Wayne Toups will take the stage, bringing his high-energy Cajun sound to the festivities starting at 7:00 pm.
