Downtown At Sundown Wraps Up This Friday With “Geaux Blue Friday”
For the past twenty-five years, Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana have come to know and love the Downtown at Sundown concert series! Well, get your lawn chairs ready because this Friday is the FINAL week of the Downtown at Sundown Concert Series!
The music takes over the downtown merchant's parking lot on the corner of Ryan and Broad Streets on four consecutive Fridays from 6 to 9 p.m., surrounded by tabletop art galleries, kid-friendly activities, and food booths for downtown eateries.
The event is kid-friendly and free. In addition, there are food trucks, beer, and wine booths. This summer, don't forget to pack your lawn chairs and take in some live music! Downtown At Sundown takes place at the 1000 block of Ryan Street in Downtown Lake Charles.
Before or after the concert, you can enjoy your time at any of the many bars and restaurants located in downtown Lake Charles. The Villa Harlequin, Pujo Street Cafe, MacFarlane's Celtic Pub, Tia Juanita's, Laguna's Mexican Grill & Cantina, Panorama Music House, 1910, Luna Bar & Grill, and OB's Bar & Grill are all close by.
Additionally, there are several food trucks on the premises during the show. The Escape Room of Louisiana is located Downtown as well and offers several rooms for a thrilling, enjoyable challenge with friends and family. 1911 Historic City Hall offers three stories of galleries, including the Black Heritage Gallery, and rotating exhibits that are free to view. It is open until six p.m.
This week, the series will wrap up with "GEAUX BLUE FRIDAY" where patrons are encouraged to wear their favorite McNeese gear and listen to some local music with Doc Wilder and Justin Martindale on the stage!
