
What’s Rockin’ in Lake Charles & SWLA This Weekend?
Lake Charles, La [KNGT-FM] - We are right smack in the middle of October, and it seems like there are a bunch of events scheduled in the area this weekend. From a cancer walk, a festival, live outdoor concerts, football games, and more.

What to do is the question now. Do you feel like seeing live music, taking in a football game, or supporting a great cause? Here is a list of things going on in Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana this weekend.
Chuck Fest returns to the Lake Area and is taking place in downtown Lake Charles this Saturday, October 18, 2025. The event is put on by the Arts & Humanities Council of SWLA. The festival features live music on the streets throughout downtown Lake Charles. Here is the lineup.
The Cowboy Block Party will be on Friday night, October 17th, featuring 80s rockers, LA ROXX. It takes place at the corner of Common and McNeese Streets in South Lake Charles. Gates open at 6:00 PM, with food trucks and a concession stand on site. You're welcome to bring your own lawn chairs and an ice chest with your favorite drinks. Best of all, admission is free and open to all ages!
The Ethel Precht Breast Cancer walk is taking place at the Lake Charles Event Center on Saturday morning. Survivors are invited to participate in the walk at no charge, while you can get a group together and walk in support or memory of someone. All the details about the walk can be found here.

Country music sensation Chase Rice will be live in concert in Lake Charles Friday night, October 17, at the Golden Nugget's Grand Event Center. Chase will take the stage at 8:30 pm that night.
The McNeese Cowboys football team will celebrate homecoming Saturday night by taking on Houston Christian in Navaree Stadium. Kickoff for the game will be at 6:00 pm on the campus of McNeese State University in Lake Charles.
