Garbage Pickup To Be Interrupted For Calcasieu & Lake Charles Residents
The Christmas and New Year's holidays are right around the corner which means a final push to get everything done like shopping for presents, buying groceries for dinners, and straightening up the house for guests are in the final stages.
It also means that services and entities will be closing for the two upcoming holidays which will cause residents of Lake Charles and Calcasieu Parish to make some adjustments. One of the big things you will need to know about is when and what day your garbage pickup will be because it will be altered for the holidays.
For Calcasieu Parish residents, Laura Heller with the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury said,
Waste Management will be closed on Christmas Day. As a result, pickups will be delayed one day during the week of Christmas. Call Waste Management at 337-436-7229 with any questions or visit wm.com/alerts for updates.
All Calcasieu Parish Police Jury departments will be closed on Tuesday, Dec. 24 and Wednesday, Dec. 25 for the Christmas holidays. All offices will reopen on Thursday, Dec. 26.
Katie Harrington with the city of Lake Charles also notified us of changes to your garbage pickup if you are a Lake Charles resident. She said,
Christmas Holiday Schedule:
All garbage and trash routes will follow their normal pickup schedules.
The Wood Waste Facility, the Team Green Recycling Truck and the Nelson Ball Field Recycling Stations will be closed on Wednesday, December 25, 2024. They will resume regular schedules on Thursday, December 26, 2024.
New Year’s Holiday Schedule:
All garbage and trash routes will follow their normal pickup schedules.
The Wood Waste Facility, the Team Green Recycling Truck, and the Nelson Ball Field Recycling Station will be closed on the New Year’s Holiday, Wednesday, January 1, 2025. They will resume the regular schedule on Thursday, January 2, 2025.
