Gator 99.5 Went Back To School Today Too

Today is the first day of school for Calcasieu Parish, and Mike Soileau took his show on the road and went out to Maplewood Elementary to welcome the students, parents, and teachers back on their first day.

We had the Gator 99.5 truck out there, along with the Luxury Limo of Lake Charles Buddy Russ Buss.

We also brought our friends along! Herc rentals came out and shed some light on the situation for us with two huge tower lights, a generator so we could jam Gator 99.5 over the speakers, and two outside air conditioners to keep us cool.

Our friends over at Maplewood Burgers (with two locations in Lake Charles on Nelson/McNeese Street and in Sulphur on Maplewood Drive) brought out some great food for everyone. We served up some breakfast burritos, breakfast sandwiches, and paninis to the students, parents, and teachers.

We went Facebook Live during the chaos, interviewed the principal, Brad Brinkley, then went inside to do the first day announcements.

All in all, it was fun but more importantly, we want to bring awareness that school is back in session, so watch for the kiddos, observe school zones, and watch your speeds in the mornings and afternoons.
