If you are not from Louisiana, then you need to know something about the Bayou State. We are a unique state with off-the-wall celebrations, traditions, and things you won't see in any other state.

First, we are the home of Mardi Gras and it is huge in Louisiana. Of course, most people when they hear Mardi Gras think of New Orleans but know that Mardi Gras is celebrated all across the state in almost every town and city in the state.

Louisiana is also known for its food, especially Cajun food. Just know that the food is different in different parts of the state. If you are East of the Mississippi you will get Creole food. If you are West of the Mississippi River then you will get more authentic Louisiana Cajun food. Now if you visit North Louisiana, well just roll the dice because they cook a little differently up there.

Louisiana folks are also known for their lifestyle of drinking, cooking, and partying. When you think of Louisiana and all those things, most tourists think of New Orleans. That is because New Orleans is home to Bourbon Street, the drinking and partying capital of the world.
