Mother's Day is Sunday, May 13. What do you get your mom, wife, the mother of your child? As a mother myself, I'm going to help you with that nerve-wracking, decision-making process. Sort of.

Most mothers will tell you that the gift of healthy, happy children is all they need to feel loved. However, two things that really make a lady smile are:

  1. You really "see" her, what she likes, and put some thought into a gift.
  2. Most gifts that are representative of her children or family are sure to touch her heart.

With those two things in mind, here is a list of suggestions.

    Framed Photo

Scroll through your phone. Do you have a great candid shot of yourself or your children? Those are the most special pictures, and they make amazing gifts. Print them out on photo paper or send them to a photo lab. It's simple using most stores' apps (i.e., Walgreens, Wal-Mart), and it's not expensive! Then, get a simple frame. She will love it!

    Pamper Her!

The majority of women don't take time to simply relax. Choose a gift that let's her know how much you appreciate the time she spends on her family by giving one that gives her some time to spend on herself. That could be a massage, a pedicure, or a basket of bath salts and candles. If you choose a bath package, make sure to include a card that promises you'll take the children out of the house for an hour or two so she can enjoy it in peace!

    Personalized Jewelry

Make sure whatever you give her for Mother's Day involves her family. A necklace or ring with their birthstones, an engraved pendant or bracelet with their names or birthdates, or any piece she can wear that makes her feel like she carries them around with her in a tangible way when she wears it.

    Pay Attention To Her "Likes"

Facebook comes in handy for gift-giving! What pages does she like? Chances are these will give you a clue as to what she enjoys or where she likes to shop. Get her a gift card to one of those places or someplace similar.

    Hobbies

Most moms are consumed with their families, but they are people, too! What does she enjoy doing outside of her family? Gardening? Praying? Reading? Cooking? You'd be surprised at creative you can be if you take the time to notice what she needs to enjoy those activities, and you'll know you helped her enjoy them more!
