I recently came upon a study in my feed and immediately became engrossed in it. Results from the Tax Foundation, which looked at the buying power of $100 in each state, were recently made public by Upworthy. I naturally focused in on Texas, curious to hear their thoughts. I practically yelled at my phone when I saw their results because it seemed impossible.

The study indicates that in Louisiana today, $100 is worth about $110.38. Although, I'm pretty sure it's closer to eighty dollars, but what do I know, I just work in Radio.

Even though $110.38 is more than my educated guess, it's still pretty good news. Louisiana ranks 14th in the country for value of our money according to this. Take Mississippi into consideration, where $100 is equivalent to about $116, to put things into perspective. Hawaii residents, on the other hand, appear to be the most affected; a $100 bill is only worth approximately $84.

Although, to be honest, I'm not holding my breath, I would like to think that someone will address this issues in the upcoming elections. It's depressing that it's been a very long time since I gave someone a $100 bill and got change back.

P.S. To be honest, I'm a proud dinosaur and still think using cash is preferable to tapping a chip whenever possible.
