Lake Charles, LA [KNGT-FM] - It seems that in the past few weeks, every time we turn around, there is a wreck on the I-10 bridge in Lake Charles. In the past three weeks alone, we have had two major wrecks on the bridge that caused significant damage, shutting it down or leaving only one lane of traffic.

The first of the two major wrecks came in early March when an 18-wheeler jackknifed on top of the bridge and caught on fire. Did you see that video that went viral? Someone caught the accident as it happened on their dashcam, and we obtained it from the Westlake Police Department.

How crazy is that? Then the second major accident happened about a week ago when a bucket truck flew off the side of the bridge, causing major damage to the concrete and taking out about a 25-foot section of the guardrails. Here are some pictures from that scene.

Eric Addision captured footage of the entrance, showing an old iron door and metal rails lining the ladder leading inside. The big question I've got is, where do those stairs actually lead to? Addison permitted us to share this with you. Check out this video.

How wild? I have been under that bridge many times and never noticed that door or entrance. Just a little Lake Charles knowledge for you.
