Lake Charles, La [KNGT-FM] - So Scotty and I, who host the morning show right here on Gator 99.5, decided to get into the Halloween spirit a little early this year and have some fun spoofing of one of the biggest topics going on right now, the I-10 bridge project.

If you're from Lake Charles or anywhere in Southwest Louisiana, one topic that always seems to come up is the long-awaited construction of a new I-10 bridge, and when it will finally be finished. Folks around here know it's been needed for years. The current bridge is over 70 years old and, let’s be honest, it's downright nerve-wracking to drive over.

The first visible progress on the project is happening now in Westlake, Louisiana, where the DOTD has closed the Westlake exit on I-10 Westbound to begin relocating overhead utility pipes.

With Halloween right around the corner, Scotty and I got some construction outfits and decided to have some fun with the topic. In the video you will see below, Scotty dressed up as a traffic cone while I was dressed up as a worker, or as Scotty labeled me, the foreman of the project. We went live from the side of I-10 to give you this breaking news update.

So there you go. Now you have everything you need to know with a side of two idiots dressed up and not qualified to stripe the lanes on a road. Sooner or later, the bridge will come, and we will have much more to report at a later date.

So stay tuned for all your updates on traffic and the bridge, right here on Gator 99.5 with Mike & Scotty in the Morning.

TRAFFIC NIGHTMARES: Top 5 Lake Charles & SWLA Streets to Avoid

You know the ones we are talking about. The streets where it seems like the traffic never stops. The ones that take you 10 minutes or more to pull out of a business to merge onto the street without getting run over, or where it seems that a thousand cars are coming down the road, and you feel like you will never be able to pull out.
