Lake Charles, Louisiana (KNGT-FM) - Traffic in the Lake Area has been a challenge since the multi-car crash on top of the I-10 Bridge in Lake Charles on Sunday. Since Sunday, if you've been travelling westbound from Lake Charles to Westlake or Sulphur, traffic has been down to one lane with the right lane being closed. That has caused traffic to back up for a mile or so at times throughout the day.

DOTD Says Westbound Lane Could Open on Friday
According to a report from the Lake Charles American Press, the right westbound lane of the bridge is expected to reopen later this week as crews finish repairs from a crash that happened on Sunday.
A DOTD spokesperson said crews even used a drone to check the damage and make sure the bridge was still strong. They found no signs of major structural problems.
If the weather cooperates, DOTD officials told the American Press that the bridge work should be finished and the right westbound lane could reopen by Friday.
