Interstate 10 Westbound Closed At La/Tx Border

Tropical Storm Harvey made landfall ealry this morning around 4 am in Cameron parish between holly beach and Johnson Bayou.  So much rain has been dumped on Southeast Texas in the Beaumont, Vidor and orange Texas area that there are flooding issues.

We were just informed by the Lake Charles Police Department that Interstate I-10 Westbound at the Texas Louisiana state line has been closed due to severe flooding.

Traffic being stopped at 1-10 Westbound Exit 4 in Vinton and being diverted.

Traffic is being diverted to Highway 171 in Lake Charles and I-49 in Lafayette.

Sgt. James Anderson with the Louisiana State Police says:

Travel into Southeast Texas is strongly discouraged at this time due to flooding
