
Iowa Mardi Gras Chicken Run Set With Rusty Metoyer
Iowa, LA [KNGT-FM] - Have you ever been to a small town in Louisiana and experienced a true traditional Mardi Gras celebration? Have you ever wanted to see what a chicken run really is or how it is put on?
Here's your chance, as the town of Iowa, Louisiana, is set to hold its annual Mardi Gras Chicken run on Mardi Gras day, Feb. 17, 2026. It is a sight to see for sure and an experience you will never forget. The day will start with people showing up to get signed in, and they will be coming to the event in all modes of transportation.

The lineup for the parade will start at 8:00 am, and the parade will leave at 10:00 am sharp. You will see people on horses, ATVs, or even floats as they prepare to make the run to collect all the fixin's for a good old-fashioned gumbo.
Everyone who wants to participate in the parade will need to arrive at the KC Hall on Highway 90 in Iowa, Louisiana, and register, pay, and sign a waiver before being able to ride in the parade. Parade fees are as follows:
Ages 12 and up -- $20
Ages 11 to 7 -- $10
Ages 7 and under -- Free
Once they arrive back, there will be free gumbo for all, and then Rusty Metoyer & Zydeco Krush will take the stage starting at 5:00 pm inside the KC Hall on Highway 90 in Iowa. There will be a $20 cover charge at the door to enter.
