It’s Official! Isle Of Capri Becomes The Horseshoe Casino
Since August of 2020 when hurricane Laura destroyed the Isle of Capri casino, the resort has been closed. The hurricane not only damaged the hotels but it dislodged the riverboat from the dock too.
If you can remember, the Isle Of Capri boat ended up underneath the I-10 bridge in Lake Charles after the hurricane passed. The rumors and questions were then raised wondering if the Isle of Capri would even come back.
Then we found out the answer was yes, sort of. We found out that the Isle would not be back but instead it would become the Horseshoe Casino. Over the last couple of years, we have seen videos being posted of things like the Isle Of Capri boat being stripped to a video of the demolition of the resort.
Yesterday, it was made official with an announcement from Anthony Carano who is the President & Chief Operating Officer of Caesars Entertainment. He said,
Horseshoe Lake Charles, the exciting evolution of Isle of Capri, arrives this winter. The reimagining of our property in Lake Charles is part of Caesars Entertainment’s commitment to you, our loyal customers, and our community. It’s been an exciting process, and we couldn’t be happier to share it with all of you.
Caesars Entertainment is honored and proud to be a part of Louisiana. We hope you’ll join us at Horseshoe Lake Charles and go all-in on a great time.
Did you catch that above? He gave us a hint of when the new casino will be open to the public. It looks like it will be set to open this year in the Winter of 2022. So it looks like another casino resort will be opening soon here in the Westlake/Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana area.
