Angela Ball told KPLC back in 2024 about how the community has really rallied around the family owned restaurant:

There were more people that I didn’t in support of us than people I did know. That shows that the community is really behind us. I wish there was another word other than thank you.

Press Release From The Ball Family:

To Our Beloved Lake Charles Community,

From the bottom of our hearts, we thank you.

When Hurricane Laura tore through our city in 2020, it didn’t just damage buildings—it broke spirits. Ball’s Fried Chick-n, a place filled with love, laughter, and the flavor Lake Charles grew up on, was forced to close its doors. The silence that followed was one we never wanted to hear. But through that silence, YOU spoke volumes—with your prayers, your kind words, your memories, and your unwavering hope for our return.

Just as we began to rebuild, another blow came—this time, a tornado that ripped through and damaged parts of our restaurant. It felt like history was trying to rewrite itself. But once again, YOU showed up.

Thanks to our incredible family and friends, and the generosity of this community, we never had to face these storms alone. We will be forever grateful for the local businesses that rallied behind us. And to the City of Lake Charles, Mayor Nic Hunter and his dedicated staff, your open communication and constant support were guiding lights through every step of this journey.

Every message, every hug, every dollar donated, every prayer lifted—each one stitched us back together.

And now, we are ready.

ON APRIL 28, 2025, BALL’S FRIED CHICK-N WILL ONCE AGAIN OPEN ITS DOORS. Not just to serve fried chicken, but to serve love, resilience, and community. What we’re bringing back isn’t just a restaurant—it’s a legacy. It’s a reminder that no matter how many times the storm comes,

LAKE CHARLES STANDS TALL!!

This isn’t just our reopening. It’s our rebirth. Together.

Thank YOU for standing with us, believing in us, and loving us through the storms.
