Nabers, who is from Lafayette, Louisiana, revealed that his pathway to college football wasn't the conventional one because he couldn't play the game in his early years due to financial restrictions.

Nabers' high school football career began as a freshman when he joined the Ovey Comeaux High School team. Nabers received offers from 17 institutions as a result of his outstanding performance in seven-on-seven games and outstanding sophomore and junior seasons. Nabers was judged ineligible to play his senior year, but his perseverance and talent allowed him to earn a position on the LSU Football squad.
