Wind, Waves And Wheels Comes To Lake Charles This Weekend

Make it an exciting weekend for the whole family. This Saturday, April 13, 2024, the City of Lake Charles and US Coast Guard Marine Safety Unit Lake Charles present    "Wind, Waves and Wheels." Partners in Parks will host another fun-filled event at Veterans Memorial Park (Lakeshore Drive) from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. It's free and open to the public!

This is a great opportunity for the community to learn more about the US Coast Guard, what they do, and how important this maritime security branch is to America. Enjoy a hands-on learning experience that promises to be educational and fun for the entire family.

Explore the many tools this branch of service uses in the line of duty and find out how they protect our nation in the air, on the water, and on roadways. Find out the differences between the US Coast Guard and the US Navy and learn why America needs them both.

The event will showcase various equipment used by the US Coast Guard and feature an MH-65 helicopter demonstration, a small boat tour, and K9 teams. It will also include a career Q&A forum for those who are curious about or interested in joining the US Coast Guard. There will also be plenty of photo opportunities, fun interactive displays, and food trucks.
