From the marshes of southwest Louisiana near Lake Charles to the great Cajun Prairie near Eunice to the rolling hills and pine forests of central and northern Louisiana one thing is certain, we love the outdoors. Whether it's fishing on one of north Louisiana's record-breaking bass lakes or hunting ducks in the early morning hours near Guyedan people in Louisiana are hooked on fishing and hunting in our state's great outdoors.

This is why it's so ironic that the state's largest hunting and fishing show has announced that it is moving "indoors" for its 44th annual edition. The 44th Annual Louisiana Sportsman Show for 2024 has been confirmed for Baton Rouge, Louisiana this year. Instead of being held outdoors as it has been in the past, the show is moving inside this year.

Where and When is the Louisiana Sportsman Show for 2024?

Baton Rouge's Raising Cane's River Center will play host for this year's event. The show will run from March 1st through March 3rd. And this year attendees and exhibitors shouldn't have to put up with freezing temperatures and occasional sleet as was experienced at last year's show.

The show hours are Noon to 7 pm on opening day March 1, that's a Friday by the way. Saturday, March 2nd show hours will be from 9 am to 7 pm. And the show will close out on Sunday with exhibition hours planned from 9 am to 4 pm before the show closes.

Ticket prices are $15 for adults. This entry wristband will allow you access to the show for the entire day. Kids wristbands are $7 and for the kiddos who are under the age of six, mom and dad you can bring them to the show for free.

Among the planned events at this year's show are several fishing demonstrations and a duck calling demonstration planned for Friday. Many similar exhibits and demonstrations will take place during the show on Saturday. Plus those attending will be treated to a floor hockey demonstration courtesy of the Baton Rouge Zydeco. That's the hockey team in Baton Rouge if you didn't know.

Sunday's events will include a meet and greet opportunity with outdoors legend Jimmy Houston. Jimmy will greet fans from 10:30 to 12:30 and again from 1:30 to 4:00 as part of activities at the show on Sunday.

There will also be a "Big Buck" contest and display for those who enjoy deer hunting. The list of vendors and activities is being updated and added to each day. For information on how to get to the show, you may follow this link.
