Mega Millions Confirms Louisiana Results from Tuesday Drawing

The people at the multi-state lottery game Mega Millions would like you to know that before last night's drawing for a jackpot estimated to be well over $820 million dollars, there had not been a jackpot winning ticket for the game sold in Louisiana.

As we mentioned before last night's drawing Louisiana along with Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Iowa, Kentucky, Mississippi, Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming had never sold a jackpot winning ticket for the Mega Millions game.

Based on the numbers that were drawn last night, that fact has not changed since no tickets sold for the game matched the numbers needed to win the game's top prize of an annuitized $820 million dollars.

Now, there were some big-money winners for last night's drawing. The Texas Lottery is reporting a ticket sold in Anna, Texas a northern suburb of Dallas is worth $ 4 million dollars this morning. That ticket purchaser matched all five of the white balls and opted-in on the Megaplier which quadrupled their winnings.

Officials with the Louisiana Lottery say our Mega Millions luck was not nearly as good as the luck found in Texas. The top prize winner in Louisiana for last night's game was only $2,000. There were three tickets sold in Louisiana that can lay claim to that amount.

Two dozen tickets earned a prize of $200 for last night's game. Three other tickets opted-in on the Megaplier to win an $800 prize. There were also seven tickets sold in Louisiana that earned a prize of $500 for last night's Mega Millions game.

The Mega Millions jackpot will now climb to an estimated $910 million dollars for Friday's drawing. That is the annuitized amount. If you opted to take just the lump sum your winnings would be $464.2 million dollars.

Tonight's Powerball drawing features a top prize that's rapidly climbed to just over $41 million dollars. In addition to the Powerball drawing tonight, there will be a drawing for the Louisiana Lottery's Lotto game. That game has a top prize estimated to be $1,050,000.00. The Easy 5 game has a pretty large top prize too. That prize is estimated to be $290,000. Both the Easy 5 and Lotto games will draw tonight right after the Powerball drawing.
