A proclamation has officially been signed by Louisiana Governor John Bel Edwards that officially stops the gathering of more than 250 people until Monday, April 13. This includes all K-12 public schools statewide. This proclamation goes into effect Monday, March 16.

This closing and cancellation is to slow the spread of COVID-19 further across the state. As of mid-day, the state of Louisiana has 33 cases presumed positive of the virus.

The proclamation can be read here from the governor's office.
