Kim Mulkey Throws Out First Pitch At Savannah Bananas Game In Hilarious Fashion
The Savannah Bananas were in Baton Rouge over the weekend and they did not disappoint! I was able to go and experience the show for the first time and it was pretty awesome. It was something like I had never experienced before... I went on Thursday, but what happened on Saturday was even better... Kim Mulkey was a part of the show and it was something...
The team is known for its funny videos that tend to go viral on social media platforms. Everything from skits to dancing, tricks, and so much more... The Savannah Bananas are INCREDIBLE! Their style of play is very different than other variations of the sport. It is VERY fan-interactive, if a fan catches a foul ball, they are out! Cool, Right!
The Savannah Bananas experience entirely reimagines the game with choreographed dances, huge scoring celebrations, mascots, musicians, and celebrity guests. It was named the “Greatest Show in Sports” by ESPN and TikTok's favorite team. Their fast-paced, action-packed "banana ball" version of baseball features regulations like no bunting, a two-hour time limit, spectators catching foul balls for outs, hitters stealing first base, and a one-on-one tiebreaker match if a game is tied.
I was truly shell-shocked watching the Bananas on Thursday when I went to the show. It was an experience like no other. We arrived nearly two hours ahead of the 5:00 gate opening time and there were already a few thousand people in line. When the gates opened, it was basically a free-for-all to get to your seats. I will say, they keep you entertained for the entire time you're around the stadium. It truly is remarkable.
Over the weekend, the Bananas brought out a special guest. The Head Coach of the LSU Women's Basketball team Kim Mulkey was the special guest. In straight Kim Mulkey fashion, when she went to throw out the first pitch, the umpire called it a ball and Mulkey went nuts. The Dancing Umpire ended up "ejecting" Mulkey from the game...
