According to Visit Lake Charles, we will have our annual Red, White, Blue, and You Fourth of July celebration. However, this year, it will be virtual. This year's celebration will be broadcast live across the Lake Charles City Hall Facebook page, kplctv.com, and the KPLC7News Facebook page.

The event will feature live music from Brandon Broussard and Chez De Bon Temps beginning at 7:15pm live. At 8:30pm, the Lake Charles Community Band will take over and do their annual patriotic concert, including their Salute to the Armed Forces. This salute will feature a local veteran from each branch inside of Central School in Lake Charles, streamed live.

With the closure oft he I-10 beach, the fireworks will not be launched from the lakefront this year. Instead, they will be launched in a way that people in the area might be able to see them from their own backyards. I personally don't know exactly how they will pull this off, but the fireworks are set to begin at 9:15pm Saturday night.

Beginning at 1:00pm on Saturday, the Historic City hall will be passing out small American flags for free to each car that drives by until 6:00pm. You can also drive through and purchase your official Red, White, Blue and You T-Shirt from City Hall for only $5.00.
