(KNGT-FM) - Have you ever just had a random thought about how a certain product got started, or became a thing? Well, that was my recent predicament with the Cheeseburger. So I did a little research...

There are plenty of people who CLAIM to have come up with the Cheeseburger, according to The Spruce Eats. In 1924, a teen in California named Lionel Sternberger put a slice of cheese on a burger. Later, in the 1930s, restaurants in Kentucky and Colorado helped make it popular, with one even trademarking the name “cheeseburger.”

That little quick story got me thinking... Who has the best Cheeseburger or Hamburger in Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana? There are a ton of great options here around the Lake Area, with a great variety as well. Whether you want all the fixins or just want it plain as can be, there is somewhere with something for everyone here in Southwest Louisiana.

These days, everything is A.I. this, A.I. that... So I asked AI to act as a Louisiana resident and make us the perfect burger. Here's what ChatGPT had to say... (THIS IS CRAZY!)

Aww yeah, cher — now you talkin’ my language. If I’m throwin’ down in the kitchen and makin’ me a good ol’ Louisiana-style wacky burger, I’m gon stack it up like this:

The Bayou Beast Burger

  • Bun: Big ol’ buttery brioche bun, toasted with a lil’ garlic butter and Tony Chachere’s dusted on top.
  • Patty: Fresh ground chuck mixed with a little andouille sausage for that smoky Cajun kick.
  • Cheese: Melted pepper jack — gotta have that spice, cher.
  • A fried boudin ball smashed right on top of the patty.
  • A spoonful of crawfish étouffée drizzled like it’s burger gravy.
  • Crispy fried onion straws for crunch.
  • Sidekick: Serve it up with some seasoned Cajun fries and a cold Abita beer.

That is certainly the mash-up...
