Calcasieu Parish [KNGT-FM] - Residents throughout Lake Charles and Southwest Louisiana should prepare for changes to government services, banking operations, mail delivery, and sanitation schedules as Juneteenth is observed on Friday, June 19, 2026.

Federal offices will close for the holiday, and most major banks and financial institutions are expected to suspend regular operations for the day. The U.S. Postal Service will not provide regular mail delivery, and financial markets, including major stock exchanges, will not conduct trading.

The federal holiday is recognized nationwide by government agencies, financial institutions, and many businesses. It is also recognized locally as the City of Lake Charles, and the Calcasieu Parish Police Jury offices will both be closed. As a result, several local services will be temporarily unavailable during the observance.
