🐊 KNGT 🐊 | Lake Charles, LA — Y’all know me, I’m all about wild and crazy things. Whether it’s funky art, weird decorations, or something that just makes folks stop and say, “Well, that’s different,” I’m in. So the other day I went digging around online, just wondering if we’ve got any roadside attractions here in Southwest Louisiana that could hang with the giant ball of yarn or the world’s biggest rocking chair.

Guess What?… we sure do!

I ended up on a website called Roadsideamerica.com, which is basically a big ol’ map of all the wacky, wonderful, and downright strange things people have built across the country. And wouldn’t you know it, Lake Charles made the list!

Right there on roadsideamerica.com you’ll find something called Carparts Robot, and buddy, it’s exactly what it sounds like, a big robot made outta old car parts. You can find it sitting proudly at Ashford’s Automotive Service on East Prien Lake Road. Yep, right here at home.

Now, I dont know the whole story behind the Robot, but would love to learn more. Rumor has it, if you blow your horn when you drive by, the robot might even wave back. And now Im sure the guys at Ashford's are gonna be wondering whats up with the horns lol.

It’s awesome to see Lake Charles getting a little spotlight for something fun and different and not crime or a hurricane. We got gumbo, gators, and now a carparts robot guarding the city. So next time you’re riding down E. Prien Lake, swing by Ashford’s Automotive, snap a picture, and tag me so I can see it.

You don’t have to drive cross-country to find something wild, sometimes, the funkiest stuff is sitting right in your own backyard.

Go on, y’all. Blow the horn. See if our Lake Charles robot waves back.
