Lake Charles Centennial Time Capsule To Be Unearthed On May 26th
The Lake Charles Sesquicentennial Celebration will kick-off on Friday, May 26th with the unearthing of the Centennial Time Capsule.
According to the press release from the City of Lake Charles, the unearthing of the Centennial Time Capsule will take place at 5:30 p.m. at 1911 Historic City Hall, 1001 Ryan Street. The event will be held during Downtown at Sundown and will be the first of many Sesquicentennial Celebration events to be help in Lake Charles. With the Centennial Time Capsule reported to include things like "Centennial coins and souvenirs, complete sound recording of Centennial events and a tape recorded message to the Governor in 2017 from Gov. John McKeithen", the unearthing of this piece of Lake Charles history will will be an amazing moment to witness.
