KNGT | Lake Charles, LA — Southwest Louisiana, if you've got a hot rod sitting in the garage, a custom truck you've spent way too much money on, or a lowrider that barely clears a speed bump, it's time to get that thing cleaned up.  The first-ever Lowered Limits Custom Car, Truck & Bike Show is rolling into Lake Charles, and this ain't gonna be your normal Saturday morning car show in a parking lot.

We're talking custom cars, trucks, bikes, rat rods, hot rods, lowriders and just about anything else on wheels taking over L'Auberge Casino Resort in Lake Charles on August 21 and 22. And I'm pretty sure I'm gonna have to go see this one.

Lowered Limits Is Coming To Lake Charles

The inaugural Lowered Limits is presented by Alpha Customs LLC, and they're opening this thing up to all automotive genres. That's what I like. I love a beautiful old-school hot rod as much as anybody. But there's something about walking around a car show and never knowing what's gonna be parked around the next corner.

You might see a truck sitting so high you'd need a ladder to get in it. Then two spots down there's a lowrider sitting so low you're wondering how in the world they got it over the railroad tracks.

Lowered Limits is being built as more than just a car show, too. The organizers are going for a full weekend experience with the resort, pool, vendors, music, VIP events and some of the wildest custom rides from around the South.

L'Auberge has its pools and lazy river open from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Fridays and Saturdays, so having a custom car show mixed with a Southwest Louisiana pool weekend sounds like a pretty good combination to me.

The event is also showing up on national car show calendars as an upcoming Lake Charles event.

Things get rolling Friday, August 21st, with a golf tournament teeing off at 8 a.m. At noon, VIP parking and setup begin along with onsite registration and judging. Vendors will also open at noon, and raffle tickets go on sale. Onsite registration closes at 5 p.m.

Saturday morning, August 22nd, everything starts at 8 a.m. Onsite registration and judging begin, vendors open back up, raffle tickets go on sale and DJ Digital gets the music going. From there, you've got pretty much all day to walk around and check out the rides.

And if you've ever been around serious custom car and truck folks, you already know some of these things are gonna be WILD. Paint jobs that probably cost more than my first vehicle. Wheels big enough to put on a tractor. Engines so clean you could eat breakfast off of 'em. And somebody is absolutely gonna have a stereo system loud enough that folks in Sulphur are gonna wonder where the bass is coming from.

The awards ceremony starts at 5 p.m., and the show officially closes at 6. Then there's a VIP After Party at 8 p.m. Here's another part I really like. Spectator admission is FREE.

So if you just wanna bring the family out and look at some cool cars, trucks and bikes, you can come check it out without paying admission. If you decide at the last minute that you wanna put your own ride in the show, day-of registration is $60 and comes with two pool passes. That's not too shabby.

L'Auberge Casino Resort is located at 777 Avenue L'Auberge in Lake Charles, and Lowered Limits is set for Friday, August 21 and Saturday, August 22, 2026.

So Southwest Louisiana, start polishing the chrome. Get the tire shine out. Wipe the fingerprints off the paint. And if your ride is low enough that you have to approach every Lake Charles pothole at a 45-degree angle...I believe this may be your weekend.
