Lake Charles, Does Your Trash Get Picked Up On Mondays? Not This Week
If you live in the city limits of Lake Charles, Louisiana and your trash usually gets picked up on Mondays, you will need to make plans for it not to be picked up this Monday, September 2nd, 2024.
The big question is since your trash will not be picked up on Monday, then when will it be picked up and why is your trash not going to be picked this week? You may not have realized this yet but the Labor Day holiday is this Monday, September 2nd, 2024 and since it is a national holiday, federal, state, and local agencies will be closed that day.
One such local agency is the city of Lake Charles, Katie Harington with the city said that the city of Lake Charles will be observing the Labor Day Holiday and that city hall and other services will be closed or suspended that day.
She did give us an insight on the trash schedule and we wanted to pass it along to you. So if your trash gets picked up on Mondays, here is the new schedule.
Kattie Harrington with the city said,
There will not be any trash or garbage picked up on Monday, September 2, 2024.
- Trash and garbage normally picked up on Monday will be rescheduled for pickup on Tuesday, September 3, 2024.
- Trash and garbage normally picked up on Tuesday will be rescheduled for pickup on Wednesday, September 4, 2024.
- Thursday and Friday routes will remain on their regular schedules.
All other services of the Department of Public Works and other City Departments, including Lake Charles City Hall and all Recycling Operations (Nelson Ball Field/Alma Ln, Wood Waste Facility, and Roving Green Truck) will be closed on Monday, September 2, but will resume regular hours of operation on Tuesday, September 3.
So have a happy Labor Day but be aware of when you will need to have your trash cans out for pick up next week.
