Lake Charles Fire Department Celebrates 150 Years of Service
Lake Charles, LA [KNGT-FM] - The Lake Charles Fire Department is celebrating a remarkable milestone: 150 years of serving and protecting the Lake Charles community.

The City of Lake Charles and LCFD will mark the anniversary with two special events on Oct. 22 and Oct. 24, giving residents an opportunity to celebrate the department's long history and the firefighters who have dedicated their lives to helping others.
“LCFD’s 150-year history is a proud reflection of generations of firefighters who have answered the call to serve their neighbors,” Lake Charles Fire Chief Delton Carter said. “This celebration allows us to honor that history while bringing our community together to celebrate the men and women who continue that tradition of service today.”
For 150 years, Lake Charles firefighters have answered calls when people needed help the most. Their job requires courage, sacrifice, and a willingness to put the safety of others ahead of their own.

Firefighters don't simply respond to fires. They show up during emergencies, accidents, disasters, and some of the most difficult moments families can experience. They train for the unexpected and willingly face dangerous situations to protect lives and property.

The 150th anniversary is more than a celebration of the department. It's also a chance for the community to recognize generations of firefighters who have made service and sacrifice a part of their lives.

Lake Charles will come together on Oct. 22 and 24 to honor that legacy and celebrate the firefighters who continue to serve today. Here is a list of events scheduled for those two days.
