RONNIE RANTZ PURCHASES GUMBEAUX GATORS
Ronnie Rantz, the owner of the Baton Rouge Rougarou, has purchased the Lake Charles Gumbeaux Gators along with two other minority ownership groups.
“I am looking forward to bringing all we have learned in Baton Rouge to Lake Charles,” Rantz said. “With the help of ‘The Jeaux’ at McNeese State University, Visit Lake Charles, and local businesses, the sky is the limit for the Gumbeaux Gators.”
Rantz is no stranger to baseball. He grew up in Alexandria, pitched for LSU’s National Championship teams in 1991 and 1993, and played in the minor leagues for the San Diego Padres and Milwaukee Brewers. He also serves as Chairman of the Louisiana State Athletic Commission and has been CEO and President of the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame since 2016.
In addition, Rantz hosts Sports Shorts on ESPN Radio and works as a college baseball analyst for the SEC Network, ESPN+, and the Jumbo Sports Network.
