Lake Charles actually has a really cool exhibit at the Imperial Calcasieu Museum that has everything to do with the scariest of SWLA... Haunted Histories takes visitors on a trip through some of the area’s most famous legends, crimes, strange events, and ghost stories. The exhibit looks at places like the Gothic Hanging Jail in DeRidder, the Calcasieu Courthouse, Big Woods Cemetery, and other locations around SWLA. It also explores old traditions, unexplained events, and modern ghost investigations. If you've ever heard one of these stories before, Haunted Histories gives you a chance to learn more about the history and mystery behind them.

The Lost Hollows in Lake Charles

The Lost Hollows is one of the haunted attractions listed in Lake Charles. The Lost Hollows is the largest and most terrifying outdoor haunt in Lake Charles, Louisiana! The fright-filled trail is open every Friday and Saturday night, September 25 - October 31, with a special “Lights Out” on Saturday, October 3.

Gothic Jail After Dark in DeRidder

One of the area's most unique Halloween attractions is Gothic Jail After Dark in DeRidder. The haunted attraction takes place at the historic Old Hanging Jail in downtown DeRidder. The attraction is celebrating 10 years of fear and promises plenty of scares for those brave enough to walk through the old jail after dark.
