
Authorities Investigate Pair of Mardi Gras Night Shootings in Lake Charles
Lake Charles, Louisiana (KNGT-FM) - We've got some unfortunate news to pass along on the day following Mardi Gras 2026: there was a pair of shootings following the Krewe of Krewes Parade in Lake Charles on Tuesday evening.

Post Mardi Gras Shootings in Lake Charles
The first shooting happened just after 7 p.m. in a parking lot near the corner of Ryan and Alamo Streets. The Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office said one person was shot in the arm. The victim was taken to a local hospital and is listed in stable condition.
According to KPLC, the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office Deputies said the shooting happened around 7 p.m. Tuesday evening in a parking lot near Ryan Street and Alamo Street. The parade had just finished when the incident took place.
KPLC caught up with Calcasieu Parish Sheriff Stitch Guillory. Here's what he said...
Sheriff Stitch Guillory said they were able to detain a person of interest.
“We also had Air One up in the air,” Guillory said. “It was because of them that we were able to track down our person of interest, and we feel like we have the guy that we’re looking for.”

Later Tuesday night, a second shooting was reported on Ryan Street. Witnesses said it happened at Pappy’s Sports Pub during Mardi Gras celebrations. KPLC 7 News had crews on the scene, and they reportedly saw at least one person taken away by Acadian Ambulance. Police have not confirmed many details yet about this second shooting.
The Lake Charles Police Department says the investigation is still ongoing. Both cases remain under investigation, and more information will be shared as it becomes available.
